Insmouth Cheetahs have released a statement confirming news that has been circulating media the past few days - striker Carlos Braga (63) has left the club after agreeing a 5-season contract worth 2.66m with Smiling Assassins (211). The transfer fee is reported around 8.55 million which is a new record for a Cheetahs outgoing transfer.

Carlos Braga has been a loyal servants for Insmouth since the very creation of the club. He has been ever present during the seasons Cheetahs were climbing the Brazil lower divisions and played a crucial role for the chain of promotions.

Even though he never got a chance to spearhead the attack since we broke in the top flight, Carlos could never be seen sulking and gladly accepted his new midfield role to help the team at the expense of personal achievements.

The Insmouth faithful will remember Carlos as a genuine club legend who played exactly 157 matches in the shirt with 104 goals and 29 assists. Braga was named MoM on 17 occasions.

His contribution this season has been outstanding, especially since right winger Lutu Francescoli was sidelined with an injury. Braga featured 7 times and managed 2 goals and 4 assists, including one of each in his very last match for the club today.

Insmouth management has reassured the fans the fee will be reinvested in the first team as soon as possible and in the meantime the void on the right side of midfield will be filled by other capable players already in the squad.

However questions can be asked with regards to the timing of the sale considering Insmouth are on the brink of season-defining sequence of fixtures facing Red Onions (3), James Town FC (11), Red Onions (3) again and Peregrinos (8.) - many fans would have liked Braga to feature in those matches and we may come to regret not having him in the squad.

We would like to pass our genuine wishes for a successful career at his new club and best of luck to his new manager DJ88RUL with the monumental task of rebuilding the glorious Smiling Assassins into the formidable force they used to be.
