Champions League
What the heck happened tonight?

I don't think I've experienced anything like that before and i wasn't even at the game. That was the most mental match I've ever seen.

Amsterdam - I'm coming!

COYS!!!!!!!!

What a match! I only saw highlights but I bet the full 90 was incredible to watch.

Although it slows things down, I'm pleased with VAR. It's definitely nice from a television/streaming-viewing perspective although probably frustrating for those at the stadium.

Well who in their right mind would have predicted that result

Turning around a 3 goal defecit against Barcelona.

Hate to say it but well done Liverpool.

Yup, that was mental, need tonight to be as well.

It's almost as if 3-0 is a dangerous lead because you think it's impregnable but the reality of the first leg was that Liverpool could easily have scored 3 then, so with Barca only turning up from the 80th minute last night it opened the door enough for Liverpool to steam roller through it.

Ajax's 1-0 lead however isn't so secure, they'll be fully focussed, and at home too. I overheard some Americans talking in an Amsterdam bar last night, one of them was saying that his appartment is in the city centre but the only nights it was too noisy to sleep were the King's day celebrations, and when Ajax beat Madrid. He said "I can't imagine what it would be like if they got through the next round - when is that?"

Suffice to say that Ajax will have the atmosphere in their favour tonight, as Liverpool did yesterday, and they won't be thinking the tie is over so I think we face almost as tough a job as Liverpool did. In short, I'm not confident.

I'd best make the most of the trip instead, off to find me some 'special' cafes and some friendly ladies

2-1 is probably our best bet, or 1-0 and penalties.

Oh what a niiiiiiight, watching Tottenham on a Wednesday night, what a feeling what a night.

Incredible, I though it was gone at half time. Couldn't see another massive comeback but bringing Llorente on made all the difference, they couldn't handle him and suddenly Blind looked like the player united didn't want. That last goal though, wow, mental, limbs, tears and worse things going on.

They held us back for an hour after the game (not that we minded) which sadly meant the trains were down to night service and they forced us to go to the city centre whether we wanted to or not so it was 1.30am, local time, by the time I got back to my hotel. I was too physically and emotionally drained to stay out celebrating but yes, what a night.

Oh, I was on the BBC news too, some footage they took of us singing in the bars earlier in the day.

He was. His finishing has always been a bit suspect despite getting himself into some great positions but tonight he took every chance he had clinically.
