89 rated defence
Has anyone ever got a better match preview than 89 on defence or is it a bug?

I?ve got three 92 rated and a 91 rated defender and low and behold it always adds up to 89 overall.

This has to be a bug right?

I wouldn't think of it as a bug, but as a big clue on how the preview rating is calculated.

But I don't feel like spilling the beans.

If thats the case it doesnt apply to goalkeepers, midfielders of attackers?

Hmm, never seen a 60 rated goalie deliver 80 preview?

So you believe that out of all the match previews the only one that has its own rule is defence?

You should be able to test it out Fulchester. Use the 3, 4 and 5 in defence formations and only put ONE defender in those positions to calculate the exact value of that defender in terms of his preview value. Get those values and if they add up to more than 90 you're onto something but I suspect your top defenders may only preview at 89 each.

Or even 89.49

None of this is brand new information but why only with defenders?

If I had a 90 rated forward he would be 89 - 90 rated

If I had a 91 rated forward he would be 90 - 91 rated

Because preview rating is not the average of all attributes. Otherwise overall rating would be the same as preview rating.

But why different to goalies midfielders and strikers?

Different set of attributes?

Worst case you are right and there is a display bug. Doesn't really change much.

Get a full defensive line of 94+ rated defenders in there, if it's still capped at 89 it would look more suspicious.

I'm also curious if mackfishy isn't capable of fielding a 3 defender formation with a defensive preview above 89. Too bad I can't tag him here
