 | It has been a couple weeks since the last update, but I can say confidently, that progress has been made.
Last time out the club was hovering around the 4,300 club rating mark. We made a significant investment signing Pyotr Izyumov (81), a former Russian international striker with a big heart. He gave the club a significant boost and helped the team go on a five game win streak to take 2nd spot in the division.
Thanks to this, on day 39, Buyer Leathercushion were able to secure the promised land of 4,501 staff. With the boost in average player rating and staff rating, the club is now a healthy distance above that 4,501 mark. But due to an administrative error, we hired the full 13 staff members, so couldn’t make a second run at staff ads to try and squeeze out the best of the best. One to remember.
On the pitch the club has done well. Eight wins, two draws and three defeats. One defeat coming against a very strong Chelsea FC in the cup another vs the Kaizer Chiefs who have won 17 in a row in all comps. The performances have been good, and after some yo-yoing between 4th, 3rd & 2nd, it was great that we managed to secure 2nd when we needed it most. We will give some of the first team players some rest and get some much needed match time to the younger squad members before the end of the season.
Last season I made some sizable mistakes that got me in about £23m worth of trouble with the tax man. This season it looks like that shouldnt be a problem. The club will look to spend around 10/15m before the end of the season and that should solve all our problems.
So far its been a very good season. Very happy with events on and off the pitch. With two weeks left, we are planning for season 33 and what it may bring for the club.
