Money
How do I gain money? I?ve spent pretty much 90% of all my cash on players and the rest of my squad aren?t worthy of buying, getting old and have a really low rating, how else am I supposed to gain money without transfers?

Maybe spending 90% of your cash in your first season wasn't the best thing to do in this game. Financially the best plan is to keep your balance at a reasonable level and try to make a bit of profit each season.

The best way for you to get a big chunk of money now, is to pin your hopes on finding a superstar youth for your academy, train them up, promote and sell. Do you have any decent youths in your academy now? If not, get your scouts out looking for youths as much as possible. It will likely take 3 seasons before you can hope for a big sale though.

Other tips about about looking after your finances:

-Keep an eye on your ticket price / attendances, get that balanced correctly. (I can't look because it's Day1, a new season, there are no figures to look at yet.) but did you do that last season?

- If you're losing money each day, (wages too high compared to income from attendances etc.) it may be best to let some useless players go to reduce your daily wages. If you can't sell, even at very cheap prices, let some contracts run out. Basically, if you can't increase income, reduce your outgoings.

- You do have two, maybe three, players that may make some money from a sale.

Alright, thank you so much for the tips this will be very useful.

The only reason I purchased so many plawrs was because I was sitting the bottom of the table so I wanted to avoid relegation, I?ll definitely put the youth system up to use and try win the league for a bonus cash reward,

Nothing happens quickly in IAG. Your youth academy will take several seasons to bear fruit and then it will be a few seasons to train up the players you produce. You have to be willing to play the long game. That goes for making money as well as improving your squad.

At the same time, relegation is not the end - you won't get sacked for it, so if you're in that situation again then consider just rolling with it and rebuilding the season after.

I know, I just didn?t realise this until I already started spending.

You've spent 40M+ on 4 strikers but not really strengthened your team much elsewhere. Are you planning on playing 4 strikers every game? If not, you're paying higher wages on them to sit on the bench and not do anything!

Definitely worth trying to move at least one of them on. You should get most of the 20M back if you resell one of the younger ones, but the older ones will retire in a bit and then you've suddenly got a striker shortage...

It's a long term game (it's taken me 16 seasons and 2 1/2 years just to finally break into the top 5 in Brazil) so plan accordingly. If it doesn't work out, use what you've learned and move to another club if you see one that you like, very few new managers succeed at their first club for any length of time because everyone makes the same mistakes that you did

Yeh it's part of the game mechanics that having money in the bank is just as important as having quality players in your squad and just as important as getting good results and league finishes and cup runs... All these factors combine and go towards you overall club rating, which in turn enhances your ability to get better coaches

Youth Academy is certainly the way but you need patience, and you'll need patience in abundance and also a hefty tax bill or two to get your bank balance healthy enough to have a club value of 80-100mil (which is prime club value for rating points)

At the moment I have decided to go with 4-2-4 formation so I can use my strikers regularly, I?ve been using 3 strikers in the 4-3-3 formation and purchased an extra for rotation / backup (injuries).

Im going to figure this out, Im gonna use some extra cash to purchase a midfielder and then Im gonna completely stop on player purchasing, I will also let other players leave the club to cut down on spending, take a look at ticket pricing and get into the youth system to try generate some profit, I dont wanna give up on this club until I have no other choice.

Everything you said is exactly the same thing I said when I first joined the previous iteration of the game.

I couldn't make it to the top because of the same initial mistakes you did. I was saved by the game reboot. When it restarted, I had learned from my past mistakes and, with a level playing field, was very successful in the early seasons of the game.

Of course there were still better managers than me out there, and eventually my club started dropping off as the superclubs started appearing. But now I'm on my 3rd club, and I know how to go about things. It just takes time. So... much.... time.......

Here's the thing though: you can achieve the same striker preview score with only 2 strikers. Yiu just needed to spend the money on a balance of players to improve all areas of the pitch. Your overall match day preview is affecting by goalkeeper, defence, midfield and forwards. It's no good having a forwards preview of 70 if the rest of your team previews at 30. Your overall preview will be 40.

If however you buy a mixture of positions, get in some average players in all positions, you can achieve a preview score of 50 across all areas and overall preview at 50.

Everyone wants to be a striker, but football is a team game.
