Let us talk Scouts
Hi all,

How many is enough? How many is too many? Do they each return after 4 days?

What does their rating impact?

Regards,

I usually hire 4, one for each position they can search for (Gk, Def, Mid, For)

I think it's pretty straightforward- get as many scouts as you can.

The only downside is their cost, which is pretty negligible anyway. I believe each one costs about 600-1000 per day depending on level.

I like to get 1 or 2 staff for each position first (1 if the guy I find has good stats in all the relevant areas, 2 if they don't, so for example I have 3 coaches, one with high player potential and ability, one with high GK coaching and one with high outfield coaching) and fill all the remaining slots with scouts.

At 7501 level you can have up to 16 staff. I have 2 assistant managers, 3 coaches, 2 youth coaches, 1 physio, and 8 scouts. If I could find the perfect coach, assistant manager and youth coach then I'd happily have 12 scouts.

One scout is always on scout next opponents. One is on scouting specific opponents (I like to keep track of what tactics the top teams are using) and he rotates around the top 20 clubs. The remaining 6 are all out looking for youths, and they return on average 6 youth reports a day.

My logic is that the more youth reports you have the better your chance of finding the perfect youth. Sure the scouts cost me 8000 per day, but if they find a 40M cost youth prospect, they've paid their wages many, many times over.

As a result my YA currently has 10 youths in it, all with the potential to reach over 90 rating. Four of them are already rated over 90 and are waiting to turn 18. Two are in the 80s, two in the 70s, and two in the 60s. There's potential to generate 400M+ of talent right there.

The only question for me is: why would you not want the most scouts you can?
