Training Match Improvements
Hi All,

Any theories out there as to what happens during a training match training session? It is possible to improve stats, but recently I had multiple players have an increase in rating during a training match but no stats improved?

I know it says you should have 1 training match per week, but I seldom do due to the fatigue it causes.

Just wondering if there are theories out there.

I think it's quite straightforward. You only see a green arrow if an individual attribute increases by more than 1 point. So an increase of 0.9 points in Tackling, for example, will not display a green arrow but is very likely to increase the Tackling attribute by 1 point (if you track each attribute on a daily basis).

Therefore a training match will increase all trainable attributes by less than 1 point, meaning no green arrows, but still improve your player overall.

It would really be quite helpful if we could see a decimal point for each attribute, although probably not as easy on the eye.

I personally never use training matches, because of the overall strategy I use to train my players. I also never use half the other available training assignments. You can max out a player by only using 7 of the possible assignments without incurring the fatigue penalty for the more fatiguing ones like Training Match.

Indeed. If you are subscribed and check the csv downloads you will see certain attributes improve by a point but not have a green arrow. Depending on whether we see rounded or truncated numbers, that could be, e.g., an attribute going from 54.3 to 54.7.

Conversely, I have had the odd occasion where some attributes have increased but the player's overall rating has gone down! Presumably suggesting lots of attributes had minute declines.
