Staff contracts?
Bit of a confusing one here, got a couple of scouts with 10 and 22 days left on their contracts. Asked them for negotiations, gave them the contract they want (as I always do) and today had messages saying we couldn't negotiate with the staff. So went back into their profile to start the process again and now I can only terminate their contracts, I cant ask for talks? What's going on? First of all why did they not accept what was a perfect contract, and secondly why are they now not able to renegotiate another one. Both are in their 40s, so it's not a case of retiring. I dont want to lose either as obviously anything new I get in will be lower rated than what I have (that's the nature of the game unless you're at the top!?) Maybe they're sulking for a day and I can start talks tomorrow?

I can't answer the first part but why do you think any new staff search would only give you lower rated staff? Was your club 6501+ when these two were found and given their jobs? You suggested it's "the nature of the game.....", but don't know what you mean by that.

I just mean that when I got those staff my rating was higher than it is now, either because I now dont finish as high each season, or I currently have less money than I had before which are linked to club rating.
So this hasn't happened to other players?
Because at the moment, I could lose two scouts in their 40s because I cant offer them a contract? And I've still no idea why they refused the last contract as previously they always accept?

Your CR is currently 5639, so if you were over 6501 when you found them, then I understand your concern.

"Was your club rating 6501+ when these two were found and given their jobs?"

I'd be inclined to check each field closely for anything innocuous, such as a space or character after the entries for wages and/or fees, as that wouldn't be recognised.

If it isn't that and you have offered exactly what the member of staff has asked, I would get a GM to look into it. I hope you get it sorted.

I've never been over 6501 rating as far as I know.
I can no longer negotiate as there is no button to start negotiations.
When your board says you can have 14 staff is that including or excluding all the fixed posts?

If you've never been over 6501 then I wouldn't worry. The staff you'll get at 5639 will be the same quality as what you'd get at 6500

It does not include the fixed posts. It refers to staff you can hire.

The amount of staff you have will have gone down compared to when you were on 6501, maybe that is why it wont let you negotiate. Oh sorry, just reread and you have not been over 6501 apologies.

Just be careful if you do have an advert out Andy

It used to be the case that if you a staff searh out and then started negotiating with a member of staff of the same category, the advert would disappear.

Not sure if that's still the case...
