Season 68

Not a lot of participation in this thread last season, is everyone getting fed up with this? I always enjoy writing the story of our season, if only to look back on it in the future to see how we got where we are...

Anyway, the target for this season was 7300 and we absolutely crushed it, peaking at 7407 on Tuesday, mainly thanks to an astonishing final league position of 2nd. Last season 84 points were only enough for 5th, but the same total this time around alongside the implosion of several of the teams around me (and the rise of a number of new challengers to take points off them) gives us our best-ever league position and the best I've personally done since Season 2 of the game.

Cup runs weren't as big a part of this as I'd hoped, drawn against the highest-ranked team in the competition in the early rounds of 2 of them, but a last-32 showing in the Super Cup was at least par and we beat some good teams in the cups as well. This also gives us room to improve in future as we push for 7501.

The other big factor was an increase in APR from 83 to 85 thanks to the signing of two big names from some top clubs. If we can get one or two more and get another 2 points of APR next season, have another good League finish and some deep cup runs, I think we stand a decent chance of actually reaching 7501...

A seasonal profit of 20M (although I'm hoping we can spend some more of it on a big signing before the taxman comes to visit) is also very welcome and we're in a great position to make a really hard push for those magical next-level staff members next season.

Also filled up the YA again and looking forward to seeing how they promote as they start turning 18, although some may have to be sold to keep the APR high...

Target for next season: reach 7501, although it's very ambitious and will take a lot of doing.

We've managed to maintain last seasons heroics and even bettered them with a inter platinum final (which we lost on penaltys) and a 7th round in the Super Cup to go alongside our second consecutive 4th place league finish so still showing some gradual improvements in all areas

Stadium is getting bigger, aswell as our team and player ratings improving, and our club value should always be above the 100million mark without any problems now so onwards and upwards

Well after a season with my eye off the ball this one turned out quite well - ended up finishing third in the league which was a pleasant surprise, although that does mean my Inter Cup run will be even shorter than usual

Had quite a nice win on penalties in the Super Cup and reached the final of the League Cup, although it's still not to be.

Got agonisingly close to 7,400 and if I'd sold one of my youths earlier I'd have been on an APR of 84 instead of 83, so would have made it. I put on over 100 points this season so 7,501 is possible next season, although it needs a really solid set of results.

Only disappointment was the youth academy, with several 90+ youths coming out as 80+ players, and no replacement candidates found yet. Still, 9 out of 12 spots filled isn't so bad.

Roll on S69

A season of steady progression for Runnymede Rangers with an 8th spot finish in the Bundesliga - only 8pts away from top 6!

League Cup we got to the Semis so that was another first, as we've only ever got to the Quarter before.

Super Cup R3 exit so a bit disappointing but you never know what the draw will turn up!

Club Rating got us far as 6,400 but a bit of spending in the transfer market got us back down to 6,050 so we'll need to keep building next season. Like chyperchondriac we had a couple of disappointing 90's youth academy players that turned out 80+ but still loads of prospects coming through

Very happy with my season.

Top 6 finish again and 2 excellent cup runs losing in the Scottish Cup final to Yanjing and reaching the last 16 of the IAG Cup.

Biggest achievement was taking 4 points off Yanjing in the league, don't think I've ever managed to achieve that before

Just need to push the club forward to try and close the gap with the Top 3 whilst staying in the Top 6.

Season 69

Ehehehehe....

Sorry.

Well this season has been a massive disappointment. The aim was to reach or get close to 7501 and we've gone backwards. 78 points in the league was our lowest total for some time, and while it was just about enough for 5th, Serie A is now half-filled with teams at the same level as us and the competition is incredibly fierce. If we don't take the next step forward soon, others are going to overtake us.

The cups fared little better, losing in the League Cup last 16 away to the team ranked 2nd, the Inter Cup quarter-final at home to the team ranked 4th, and the Super Cup last 32 at home to the team ranked 1. Give me a break, drawmaster...

Off the pitch it was a more productive season, promoting 4 youths with FAs in the 90s, breaking my transfer record to sign a 91-rated striker, and still breaking even for the season overall thanks to selling some of my FA 80s players.

A few seasons ago I was content with 5th place but it's no longer good enough. The older players of my squad start retiring at the end of next season. If we don't hit 7501 soon, we may never do it, especially as the teams around us match us and take more points off us each season. Some good fortune is required next season.

I expected better from you FS

I won a cup. I won a cup! The League Cup to be precise. My first ever cup, and the club's too. On penalties but still, I held my own against a top club and won the lottery. Fourth in the league, which is currently my par score, likewise round 2 in the inter cup (less said about that the better). And when you get drawn against Peregrinos in the fourth round of the Super Cup, what can you do...

After I won the League Cup (have I mentioned that already?) I really thought this was the season for 7501, and if I'd made it to round 7 or so of the SC then I think it would have been. As it is, I fell about 40 points short. My main worry is I have a lot of youths to promote next season so my APR will take a hit, unless I sell them. If it's looking like I'm 20 or so away and I need one more APR point then I might just have to forsake some superstars for the main prize. Unless I have some disastrous cup draws I think next season could be the one. Wish me luck

Like Cypher we've won our first major trophy this season! and finished 2nd in the league... 7200 ish for our club rating so continuing to show improvements and still with further room to improve again next season

I've recently realised I'm at my 2 year anniversary since joining the game.... It seems like yesterday lol

Quite happy with the season, no major improvements but did sell a youth for 53m, however I havent spent much of that money so will do a stadium expansion today/tomorrow. Managed 3rd in the league, was second with 1 minute to play but conceded a goal with the last kick of the season to the team who eventually finished 2nd.
Somehow fluked my way to the quarter finals of the Super Cup, beating 3 teams with match previews of 90 and above on the way, but today was a step too far, and missing 3 of my best players really didnt help, but still delighted with that.

Objections for next season:
promote a couple of youths, do some transfer business and hope to get to the final of my league cup.

This was the second full season for my club and I would say it was a success I only dropped points in two matches to win the 4th tier league in Spain. I also reached the semi final of the Iron Shield, not much more I can realistically do right now. It would be nice to bring in more income but I still have a small stadium so could make an expansion there next season while I still have most of my starting money. Made some small player purchases to replace the retiring players I started with many who were 30+. For next season a lot of the same I imagine slowly building this club up. Got a decent youth academy going too, in a few years I might see some graduate with decent enough stats.

We didn't win anything this season, but despite no silverware, we were the only English Premier side to go unbeaten, a repeat of last season. However, the 9 draws impacted our finishing position in the league table.

We are punching above our weight in terms of high quality players. It's been a struggle bringing in world beaters, being heavily reliant upon quality youths, which is easier said than done. We have several players in their twilight playing years, who will need replacing this season, but onwards and hopefully back upwards this season.

Season 70

Another disappointing season in the League, 79 points only enough for 6th place this season and so many points dropped in matches we dominated, I've got to work out what's going wrong. At least the cups were a bit of relief, the obligatory round 4 loss to Peregrinos in the League Cup aside, we reached the final of the Platinum Shield (losing to a strong Wynvale Wanderers side) and the last 32 of the Super Cup (losing to a strong Namutumba side).

As a result club rating has stagnated, not helped by a whole slew of injuries to my first team which has knocked my APR down a point. Hoping to make a marquee signing tomorrow or we're going to be hit with a massive tax bill after making 30M profit. At least the youth academy continues to produce for us with five 90+ players due for promotion over the next few seasons.

We lose 4 players to retirement over the course of the next 50 days, hopefully that doesn't tank the club rating too hard.

The spate of RNG fiestas and the repeated injuries to my first team have had me seriously questioning whether or not I want to continue at the club. The only target now has been to hit 7501 for many seasons now and we're not much closer than we were 5 seasons back. Is it time for a new challenge- possibly a slightly easier one than trying to break into the big time in the hardest division in the league?

As expressed earlier, the Dynamo's have got the Scudetto in the cabinet,, the cabinet is still made up of balsa wood and Ikea glue so I'll need to get a new one soon, especially if reaching the 7501 which is within touching distance

Stadium nearly maxed and ive resorted to only searching for 11-12 yr olds in the academy at the moment to slow down any potential promotees so it doesn't mess with my club rating

Another all time record season in a few senses and hopefully we can carry on pushing up that club rating and win some more trophys

Thanks for letting me know

A strong first season in the NPFL (expectations were high when inheriting a squad with a 80+ average rating), sitting in the top four for most of the season.
Only when Insmouth & Kings Reserve dropped points over the last four games did we jump up to first, just about managing to hang on to win the title!

Good runs in each of the cups, reaching the Nigerian Cup Final, losing in extra time to New Justland.
Winning the Golden Platter, and reaching the quarter finals of the IAG Cup losing to a superior Norfolk Enchants after three successive rounds against Brazilian teams (sorry FS).

Next season will be consolidating a top four place whilst moving on some of our older players to keep the average age under 25.

A season of treading water for us, although we had a good run in the IAG cup. Managed to promote a couple of 90+ youths which is handy.
