That said, I've missed 2 Spurs games this week that I could have gone to. Win at Arsenal (after I've been to so many painful defeats there) and this ridiculous match at Goodison. It seems like we're definitely better when I don't go.

Excellent! One of the few. No excuse for armchair fans though

I'd be at matches a lot more...if I didn't live 4,000 miles away

As it is, my armchair and local pub will have to suffice.

Wow, Son is on absolute fire at the moment. Spurs up to the giddy heights of 2nd. Don't think it'll be enough - Liverpool are too far ahead and seem unstoppable. City will also bounce back as well.

Indeed. Although it's not that. Just don't want Liverpool winning the league...

Off to the opening of Spurs' new stadium now. If you haven't seen it yet, you should, it's incredible (even though I'm biased).

Spurs won so there may have been a golf clap or two at the end

If I'm honest, it wasn't as good as I'd hoped. There were too many nerves about the importance of the 3 points so the initial strong atmosphere died off quickly until after we scored.

It wasn't bade, just wasn't mind blowing. It'll get better over the coming weeks though

The stadium is amazing though, everything is just right. They've thought of everything, super modern and yet still made it feel like our traditional home.

How much is it for a pint?
I'm guessing about £7?

You'll be surprised, Amstel £4, craft beers from £4.50-5.50 depending on strength and whether it's a pint or a can. For London, it's really not bad pricing.

Hark, now hear the Brighton sing,
The Palace run away;
And we will fight for evermore
Because of Boxing Day!

I was there at the Goldstone when they sang that gem for the first time.
