I don't want to tempt fate but in previous forum posts I see other managers say if a youth has been with you for 4 or more seasons it's a 100% promotion guaranteed
Im not sure about these things but because of you Mr Cantona I added my first ever 11yr old rated 5 in the academy as a tester to see how he develops,, he's been here nearly a full season now and is rated 21

| I still haven't had a youth reject a senior contract yet, and the shortest time I've had one in the academy was just over 2 seasons. I think you'll probably be fine. Plus you get an extra season or two to train him up- he might reach his maximum potential by age 21 instead of age 23 for example. | |

I wouldn't say any youth promotion is 100% guaranteed, there seem to be multiple factors involved. However, time spent in academy seems to be quite influential, and 4 seasons should give a high chance of success these days.
In the past, I had a few players who had been in the academy 4, and even 5 seasons reject promotion. On the other hand, since the youth academy updates in Season 38, I haven't had a single player reject. I get the feeling that promotions were made easier in those updates.
|
| I've had a youth (one of my very first) reject promotion on reaching 18 after nearly four seasons. I don't know whether the automatic promotion at 18 has slightly different mechanics than when you offer promotion manually. That's the only rejection I've ever had on either team.
On the flip side, I had a player accept promotion after less than a season - he'd maxed out and wasn't very good so I thought, why not.
I think you'd be very unlucky not to have a successful promotion after four seasons.

That's a promising start! Let's hope he continues at the same rate. Was he a 5-5-5? If so, it will be interesting to see how much or how little those numbers diverge.

2 weeks ago I promoted a 5/5/5 11 y/o hes up to 14 (14/14/14) already but I also promoted a 5/5/5 one at the start of the season who is still rated 5 ha.

No he isn't perfectly balanced but he is close, hopefully he stays close whilst developing

19, 21, 23 and an overall of 21 at the moment, he's a tall muscular Nigerian striker lol,,, at the beginning of next season I'll have 100/100/100 medium height french goalie to promote,,, he was 14 and 70 rated, perfectly balanced upon arrival into the academy, just waiting on him turning 17 soonish and contract and coach report in about 30 days

I'd estimate from that that he'd get to about 82 on promotion.
Your GK is a very exciting prospect - good luck, and let us know!

| The youth promotion algorithm continues to be an unpredictable beast.
Last update, Alex Hobb (GK) promoted from my academy some time after he had stopped improving. The coaches said he could get no better when rated 78 (80/77/77).
The previous update, Vignesh Shedge (Def) promoted. Again the coaches said he could get no better when rated 93 (95/92/92), I had high hopes for him.
Incredibly, Hobb looks like he could become a few points better than Shedge when fully trained.

No, Shedge was in the academy longer.
- Shedge was there for 4 seasons.
- Hobb was there for 3.5 seasons.

That is strange! I've seen average youths sometimes come out as 90+ FA players but not 80s. Will you be holding onto him to find out where he ends up?
Meanwhile, I've been told my 95/93/91 CB has reached his peak so fingers crossed for a superstar in the next few days

| I desperately want to bring the excellently-named Adolf Nn into my academy but sadly he is just not well balanced enough | |

I pressed the button tonight, fingers crossed he accepts, as much to see what his FAs are..

He has turned out to be a very good player, as expected, but no better than my last youths who were rated lower in the youth academy.
Kounev is his name if you're interested.
|
| Very happy with how Mosteghanemi turned out given that he only reached 95 in the academy. Lowest FA of 93 surprised me a lot.
That's 10 youths promoted from the academy with 90+ FAs now. Shame I had to sell one of them or I'd nearly have a full team of them.
|
| Möwen would like to welcome Youcef Djoudi to the youth squad. Just arrived today, rated 60/6060. He's the first decent youth in several months of searching. Oddly enough, the other eleven youths in the report were all in single figures. | |
|
| Well, considering he was rated in 95/93/91 in the academy, Boubacar Sy is quite the disappointment. On the other hand, I could probably do with a good defender and this takes away the dilemma of whether to sell if he had been a superstar.
Meanwhile, I have another 17 year old who in spite of being rated 95/95/95, has "potential to improve a lot". Let's see, hey?
