I have 10 days left on a 15 year old rated 14/15/16
I'd say he's not necessarily well balanced. If you multiply all his current scores by 6.25, you'd end up with a 88/94/100 youth, and that's probably your very best case scenario. More likely you'll end up with a 70 FAs player.
If I take on a low-rated youth they have to absolutely perfectly balanced. I generally don't take on anyone rated much lower than 30 for this reason.
5/5/5 could mean 4.5/4.5/5.49 as well, and then you're looking at 81/81/100 at best. Not worth the risk, in my opinion.

Interesting. 88 as a lowest FA sounds great to my current team though (and 70s is my new lowest limit).
But I appreciate the insight

To be clear, 88 was a best case scenario, if and only if the guy reaches 100 with his highest stat. It's probably going to end up lower than that- many of my unbalanced youths haven't had their highest stat go above 95. He also might just not improve at all. There are no guarantees here.
What's more, having a lowest Physical/Mental/Technical rating of 88 doesn't mean their lowest FA will be 88. There's a lot of variance there too.
Basically, I'm saying that the guy is not necessarily quite as good as you might think, I'm afraid!

Before your comments I was afraid he might end up with FAs in the 40s! Due to his slow progression. So yes, I'm both intrigued to keep him going as a learning exercise, and also happy the will likely be saleable (I find anyone over 55FA is able to bring back a decent return), albeit tying up a YA spot for another few years which has a cost.

| He could end up not moving an inch and promoting as a 15 rated youth
I doubt it'll happen, but there are no certainties when it comes to the youth academy.
|
| I will add that a youth with slightly unbalanced attributes, with the lowest one in the 80s, can still promote with all his fixed attributes in the 90s. It can work both ways. | |

I find that quite often those promotions are "fake" 90s rated players who don't actually achieve their potential. However, Rowett who promoted for me on 87/87/93 does appear to be the real deal.

| Guys, when one of the three youth statistics hits 100 do the others not increase anymore? Hence why balanced youths are more sort after? Cheers, Ben | |

| Please welcome to A. Olagbegi, a promising youth rated 94/94/94. | |

Nice player although I would have expected better based on his youth ratings.

Yep, was just my ironic way of saying. Check out my MF Dunbar - was rated 78 and not balanced, its kinda balancing out.

| Hafnar Elvsted promoted for me today, really pleased with him. | |
|
| I had a 17 Yr old who was stuck on 74 with only a few days left on his contract, I wasn't sure whether to renew it or promote, I decided to renew it and in just 10 days or so he has shot up to 91, here's hoping to a few more points before he hopefully self promotes. | |
