yes, that's what I'd do. Remember that's essentially £40m you're playing with, I wouldn't gamble even though your success chance is already relatively high. Even increasing the chance by 2 or 3% is around £1m increase in average outcome.

I thought I read somewhere it is better to promote them a couple of days before their contract is due for renewal rather than wait for them to turn 18.

That may have been for those under 17, where an expiring contract could see the contract expire before they accept - though others may, and do, know more.

It's always the way, isn't it? After a season and a half of not finding a single promotable youth 2 come along at once- a pair of 14-year old midfielders rated in the 50s, one perfectly balanced, the other 2 points away from being perfectly balanced.

Perfect timing too as I'm getting ready to promote 4 youths in the next 30 days...

Well ive never seen this before. A youth player jumped in rating by 10 in 1 day.

He started in the academy 33 days ago as a 12yo 31 rated, hes now 13yo rated 58. I think hes on his way

I've never waited until they turn 18 and had a 100% strike rate,,, I've also promoted 7 youths in one season all succesfully not long ago

From my understanding and 30 months of experience, if you just search for the 11-12 and 13-14 yr olds who are near perfectly balanced,, wait until they are 17 or you get the the message from the coach saying " that's all we can do" then promote them

From my experience, all my graduates have had at least 3 or 4 seasons in the a academy and never failed

Yes,,, if you only search for the 11-12 and 13-14 year olds, choose the ones which have balanced youth attributes so they can train up in the academy as balanced as possible and have long enough time in the academy to be a 100% strike rate with promotion

The 11-12 yr olds can be promoted when they turn 16 yr old if you've had that message or maxed out at 100

The 13-14 yr olds can be promoted at 17,,, after you've had that message or they've maxed

Like I say, I've had a 100% strike rate and promoted many top players without any problems using this method
