After supervising his training, our youth coaches report that Etienne Busque is a bit of a puzzle. He could improve lots, a little, or not at all.

Sometimes the coaches just can't quite get an estimate on their potential, it seems. Hopefully the next round gives you more information!

Personally i would keep him in the academy until he reaches 17 and then let his contract run down to 2-3days left and click the promote button

In have two talented youths at 17yo and both down to 5days left on their contracts. I wonder whether either or both will accept in two days!

I had that message. My player did improve and I just recently got another message about him: After supervising his training, our youth coaches report that Pueblo Diaz has started to show some quality, still a long road ahead yet.

I'm quite happy with him now and definitely glad I stuck with him.

My scouts don't seem to find many balanced players anymore, so I'd take what you can get, its very rare, I get some kind of balanced and I take them on knowing its unlikely to find an exactly balanced player.

100% agree. I have rejected 40-50 rated 14yo's the last two weeks as they're not balanced FA's. I am convinced all atts grow at the same rate and therefore if you have one unbalanced high attribute then when it hits 99 the remaining two will no longer improve. That's my take on things, so I avoid unbalanced youth recruits and stick to ones that are balanced.

I'd rather a youth with 30/30/30 rated 30 vs a youth with 25/40/70 rated 55 or whatever as an example as the rated 55 will turn out terrible upon promotion despite maybe being able to train them up to 65-70 rated.

I've just had that rather enigmatic message, so I'll take a leaf out of your book and hope that he does the same.

And it's the same here - I'm taking on new ones very rarely at the moment.

EDIT: Just checked my lowest rated scout's findings (he takes a day longer than the other ones I have) and picked up a nicely balanced 14-year-old at 45/45/45!

100! I've never heard of a youth player reaching 100. That's amazing. I hope he promotes, would love to know what his stats turn out like at senior level.

Neither made it to full fixed 90's but i'm pleased with them both hitting fixed 80's

My youth called Neil was rated 99 and iI am told he is only one of two youths to ever promote as fixed 90's in this game.

To have yours go up to the very full 100 is epic! Fingers crossed he promotes for you

How long have you had him in the Youth Academy?

I have a GK (73) who is 17. I know he will hit 18 before his contract ends (in 28 days).

Should I just let him get to 18 or am I better off hitting the button early?

Depends on what other information you have. I'd take a look at the youth update news items to see what seems to matter. Have you had any notes from your youth coaches on him? Those would be valuable. With no other information, I'd consider renewing him.
